 Jalandhar: Punjab Local Bodies Minister Mr. Balkar Singh today said that the Punjab Government under able leadership of chief minister Mr. Bhagwant Singh Mann is working to revamp the infrastructure in urban areas to facilitate the people.

Today alongwith MP Sushil Kumar Rinku , MLAs Sheetal angural and Raman Arora , the minister laid the foundation stone of various development projects to further strengthen the basic infrastructure in the city.

They laid foundation stone of a new tubewells in Deol Nagar area falling under Jalandhar West Assembly Constituency, followed by renovation work of a park at Adarsh Nagar and establishment of a fire station at sports and surgical complex, Jalandhar. All these projects will be executed at an outlay of Rs. 1.91 crore. The Minister said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab Government was committed to revamping urban infrastructure by new development projects.

He reiterated that there was no paucity of funds for the development as the Punjab Government has already carried out various projects in the state. He asserted that the state government was making concerted efforts to make Punjab a leading state in the country in terms of infrastructure development. The Minister laid foundation stone of a new tubewell at Deol Nagar and Silver Enclave village Chokhan at a cost of Rs. 21.48 lakh each. Likewise, a new fire station to be set up in sports and surgical complex at an outlay of Rs. 121.71 lakh; and foundation stone of Kanwaljit Park was laid at an outlay of Rs.48.92 lakh.
 
Addressing the gathering, the Minister said that a slew of development projects were already launched in the state so as to put Punjab on a high-growth trajectory. He further mentioned that the Punjab Government has already launched a unique initiative namely “Aap Di Sarkar, Aap De Dwar “ to provide citizen services to people at doorsteps. He stated that a large number of people have already taken advantage of this initiative through their active participation in these camps.
 
Speaking on the occasion, Member Parliament Sushil Kumar Rinku said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab Government was serving all sections of society. He mentioned that the government has already taken several unique initiatives to further transform the development paradigm in the state. He stated that the government was reaching out to masses with an aim to resolve their long pending issues.

Government Officers were camping in villages and far flung areas so as to provide citizens with civic services at doorsteps, he added. MLAs Raman Arora and Sheetal Angural stated that the Punjab Government was continuously inaugurating new projects in the city to strengthen the basic amenities in the city.
