Vigilance Bureau arrests female senior assistant for taking Rs 3000 bribe

He said that the accused will be produced in the court tomorrow and further investigation of this case is going on.

Amritsar: Punjab Vigilance Bureau has arrested Senior Assistant Subhadesh Kaur posted at District Treasury Office, Amritsar red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs.3000 during the ongoing campaign against corruption in the state.

Giving information in this regard, the spokesperson of the State Vigilance Bureau said that the above accused have been arrested on the basis of the complaint lodged by Sukhdev Singh posted as Block Forest Officer in the Forest Department at Raia.

The complainant approached the Vigilance Bureau Range Amritsar and alleged that the said employee was demanding a bribe of Rs 10,000 in exchange for releasing his GPF and had already taken Rs 7,000 in two installments in this regard.

The spokesperson said that after the initial investigation of this complaint, the Vigilance Bureau Amritsar Range team laid a trap and caught the said accused red-handed while taking the last installment of Rs 3,000 from the complainant in the presence of two government witnesses.

He said that in this regard, a case has been registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act in the Amritsar range of the Vigilance Bureau. He said that the accused will be produced in the court tomorrow and further investigation of this case is going on.
