Chamkaur Sahib: Yesterday people all over celebrated Holi. Former Chief Minister of Punjab Charanjit Singh Channi too celebrated the festival of colours but in his own way. Former CM celebrated the festival of Holi with the migrant people.
Former CM Charanjot Singh Channi celebrated holi here at a program in Chamkaur Sahib. He even shared a video from the Holi program on his social media handle.
People expressed their happiness on seeing Channi along with them. One worker said that Channi has always supported them and stands with their community firmly.
On celebrating holi with migrants he said that he celebrates Holi with the migrants every year. Channi celebrated the festival and even danced on the beats of Bhojpuri songs along with the workers.
His celebration was noticed by the people because of the statement he gave during campaign of Assembly elections 2022. In 2022 while campaigning along with Priyanka Gandhi and other workers, he made a controversial statement in which he said, workers from UP, Bihar will not let enter the state.
On political front, Lok Sabha elections are round the corner. The voting on 13 seats of Punjab will be held on June 1 during the last phase. As per sources, Congress party is thinking to field Charanjit Singh Channi from Jalandhar Lok Sabha seat.
