Chandigarh : Chandigarh District Court has granted bail to Pradeep Kalar, arrested by Punjab Police in a Bargadi sacrilege case.
Accused Pradeep Bargari is the main conspirator of the case. He was arrested from Gurugram in February this year by the SIT formed by Punjab Police. He was declared a fugitive by the Faridkot court in three different cases. After this he was arrested by SIT. There were allegations that Kaler had been evading arrest since 2018.
In 2015, three cases were registered in Faridkot in sacrilege cases. The first case of theft of Guru Granth Sahib from the Gurdwara of village Burj Jawahar Singh Wala was registered on June 1, 2015.
The second case was registered on 25 September 2015 regarding the pasting of two posters containing insulting remarks against Sikhism and Guru Sahibs. The third case was registered on October 12, 2015, when the “Ang” of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji were found scattered outside the Gurdwara Sahib of Bargari village.
The police had named eight persons in these cases and two accused were absconding. Bittu, who was arrested in 2018, was allegedly killed by two men in Nabha Jail on June 22, 2019. A resident of Kaithal, Kaler claimed that he was the national head of the Sacha Sauda Dera’s political wing in 2014 and his job was to liaise with political parties.
