Weather in Punjab: Summer starts to show its fury; temperature exceeds 36 degrees in some cities

Chandigarh : Summer has started showing its fury in Punjab. At present, increase in maximum temperature continues in Punjab. It reached 2.5 degrees above normal with an increase of 0.1 degrees on Friday.

In Punjab, the highest temperature of 36.1 degrees was recorded in Patiala. The mercury in Patiala was 4 degrees above normal. On the other hand, the Meteorological Department has predicted that the weather will remain dry for the next six days, due to which the temperature is likely to rise further.

However, a decrease of 0.4 degrees has been recorded in the minimum temperature of Punjab. Currently it is close to normal. The lowest temperature was recorded at 13.5 degrees in Gurdaspur.

Heat rages in these cities

The maximum temperature in Amritsar was 33.0 degrees (1.8 degrees above normal), Ludhiana 34.0 degrees (two degrees above normal), Pathankot 34.5, Faridkot 34.5, Gurdaspur 32.8 and SBS Nagar 33.1 degrees. Amritsar recorded a minimum temperature of 16.1 degrees, which was 1.8 degrees above normal. Ludhiana recorded 16.6 (1.5 degrees above normal), Patiala 18.0 (1.0 degrees above normal), Pathankot 15.9, Bathinda 17.0, Faridkot 16.1, Barnala 16.2, Ferozepur 14.2 degrees.
