Amritsar: Customs recover gold bars worth over Rs 51 lakh from plane’s lavatory

 The said recovery was made from the floor of the front washroom of the aircraft and the said packet was concealed below the sink area.

Amritsar: On 10.04.2024, here at Sri Guru Ram Das Ji International Airport Amritsar,  During rummaging of the Indigo Flight No 6E1428 coming from Sharjah, The Customs AIU staff with the help of Indigo staff recovered a packet having gold bars.

 The customs team recovered 6 gold bars wrapped in grey adhesive tape and one electronic tracker device was also found partially wrapped with it.

 The said recovery was made from the floor of the front washroom of the aircraft and the said packet was concealed below the sink area.

 The net weight of gold bars was found to be 700 gms. The market value of said gold is Rs.51,45,000. The same was seized under section 110 of Customs Act,1962.

Further Investigation is under process.
