The temple trust had commissioned a team of scientists to make this occasion possible. Using scientific expertise, a beam of light illuminated Ram Lala’s forehead. To achieve this phenomenon, sunlight was precisely directed onto the statue’s forehead using a combination of mirrors and lenses. This was carried out precisely at 12 noon for about 3 minutes.

Grand Surya Tilak ceremony 

The grand ceremony in which sun rays were deflected using lenses and pipes on the forehead of Ram Lalla lasted for nearly 2 to 3 minutes. The rays from the sun were reflected from the third floor of the temple to the forehead of Ram Lalla.

Devotees throng Ram Mandir in huge numbers as it is the first Ram Navami after the Pran Pratishtha ceremony that happened in January. 

Science Behind Surya Tilak Ceremony

  1. Sun rays fell on the mirror on the third floor from where they entered a pipe made of brass.

  1. Sun Light to reflect again from the second mirror placed in the pipe at 90 degrees.

  1. Rays pass from three different lenses.

  1. After passing three lenses rays fell and again reflected at 90 degrees to fall on the forehead of Ram Lalla.

  1. A 5.8-centimetre beam of light illuminated the forehead of Ram Lalla for nearly 3 minutes.
