Farmer squat on tracks at Shambhu Railway station, 34 trains affected

34 trains have been affected due to the farmers' protest. 11 trains have been completely canceled, while the routes of many trains have been diverted and the routes of some have been shortened.

Shambhu Border: Following the ultimatum given by the Sanyukt Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) to release the farmers leaders arrested by the Haryana Police Administration by April 16, today on April 17, farmers protested on the railways tracks at the Shambhu Railway Station.

The Punjab Police Administration and the Railway Police Administration had installed barricades to stop the crowd of farmers before the Shambhu barrier, but due to the large number of farmers, the barricades were removed and the farmers sat on the railway tracks here at Shambhu railway station. There was also a clash between the police and farmers before they reached railway station.

Jagjit Singh Dallewal, president of Bharatiya Kisan Union Ekta Sidhupur, National President of Bharatiya Kisan Mazdoor Union Punjab, Manjit Singh Ghumana, said that the Haryana police administration has arrested the leaders of farmers’ organizations for the past several days.

Dallewal said- will not vacate the track till release of farmers

Farmer leader Jagjit Dallewal said that the government did not release the farmers even after giving assurance. He said, “We will not vacate the track until the government releases the arrested farmers. Dallewal further said that if the government releases farmers now , they will leave the tracks  in 10 minutes.
