Jalandhar : A man raped a 13-year-old girl for about 3 months in the area of Baradari police station in Jalandhar, Punjab. The victim’s family came to know about this when the girl started having stomach pain. During examination by doctors, it was found that the said 13 year old girl was pregnant.
In this case, the police of Navi Baradari police station arrested the accused by registering a case of rape and under the POCSO Act. The police will soon present the accused in the court and interrogate him on remand.
The victim’s family is from Madhya Pradesh.
Man, a resident of Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, told that he was living with his family near the railway quarters of Jalandhar for a long time. He used to work as a cobbler in Jalandhar. He was married in Jalandhar in 2010. Next year a daughter was born in his house. The very next year his wife died due to some reasons.
Girl suddenly started having stomach ache
The father told that earlier he used to work as a cobbler in Kartarpur. He had come to Jalandhar a few months ago. He lived on rent on Jalandhar to Sant Nagar road. During this time he used to go to his work and the girl was alone at home. Last day the daughter suddenly started having stomach pain. But they did not paid any attention.
Physical relations were established by threatening
On April 14, he took his daughter to Civil Hospital Jalandhar for treatment. When the doctors examined them, they found out that there were injuries on the child’s private parts and that she was pregnant. After which the father somehow coaxed the girl and when she asked, she told that a person living in her quarters had physical relations with her.
The accused used to do this act by entering inside the house. Also, the accused used to threaten that if he told the above matter to anyone. By giving these threats, the accused raped the girl several times in about 3 months.
Disclosure after getting medical done
The girl’s medical examination was done and the matter was informed to the police. After investigating the case, police have registered a case against the accused Charan Das alias Sunny Baba, resident of Beas, Amritsar.
ADCP said – the accused will be taken on remand soon
ADCP Gurpratap Singh Sahota said that the police has arrested the accused in the case. Will be produced in court and taken on remand. After which the interrogation of the accused will be started. So that it can be known how many times the said accused exploit the girl.
