Punjab: With the joining of Mohinder Singh Kaypee in Shiromani Akali Dal, congress party in Jalandhar has faced another setback. Today at his residence, the former MP and Congress Chief joined Shiromani Akali Dal in the presence of SAD Chief Sukhbir Singh Badal.
On this occasion, SAD President Sukhbir Badal also announced names of six candidates for the upcoming elections. Apart from 5 candidates from Punjab, SAD also announced candidate for the lone Lok Sabha seat of Chandigarh.

Kaypee to Join SAD
Former Congress MP from Jalandhar and Ex-PPCC chief Mohinder Singh Kaypee will join Shiromani Akali Dal today. Earlier last week on Friday, he met SAD President Sukhbir Singh Badal which fuelled the speculations of Kaypee joining SAD.
The Congress party is continuously facing setbacks in Punjab. There has been a rebellion in the Congress after giving ticket to former Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi from Jalandhar. After former MP Santokh Chaudhary’s wife Karamjit Kaur and former Jalandhar Improvement Trust chairman, Tejinder Pal Singh Bittu joined the BJP, now former Jalandhar MP and minister in the Punjab government Mohinder Singh Kaypee has also taken the rebellious path.
Fed up from the cheating
In Conversation with The Savera, Kaypee confirmed that he will be joining SAD today at his residence. The joining will be attended SAD President Sukhbir Badal.
He said that he was cheated in the last assembly elections. Earlier, he was also cheated in the Lok Sabha elections. This time again the party ignored him. However, Charanjit Singh Channi is his relative and is very close. He said that whatever decision the party may have taken is right in his eyes. But this is not acceptable to them.
Channi Vs Kaypee Likely
It is expected that SAD will field Mohinder Singh Kaypee from the Jalandhar Lok Sabha seat. If this happens, then the contest of Jalandhar los Sabha seat will be between Former CM Charanjit Singh Channi and Former MP and PPCC Chief Mohinder Singh Kaypee.
