The interesting aspect is that Maluka says that he is in the Akali Dal but remains silent on the question of joining the BJP.

Chandigarh : After the son and daughter-in-law of Shiromani Akali Dal’s senior leader and former minister Sikander Singh Maluka joined the BJP, discussions about Sikander Singh Maluka’s joining the BJP are on the rise.

The interesting aspect is that Maluka says that he is in the Akali Dal but remains silent on the question of joining the BJP.

It is to be mentioned that the son of Sikandar Singh Maluka, former chairman of Zilla Parishad Bathinda, Gurpreet Singh Maluka and daughter-in-law, former IAS Parampal Kaur Sidhu, joined the BJP in the past due to being angry with Shiromani Akali Dal.

BJP also announced Parampal Kaur as Lok Sabha candidate from Bathinda. On the other hand, Maluka is also not showing any activity in the party in view of the Lok Sabha elections. Due to this, discussions are going on about Maluka is also going to join BJP.

Recently, Shiromani Akali Dal candidate Rajinder Singh Dharamkot from Lok Sabha constituency Faridkot held election meetings in seven villages of Vidhan Sabha constituency but Maluka did not participate in these meetings.

Due to this, there are various discussions in many political corridors. When Sikandar Singh Maluka was contacted regarding this discussion, he said that he is still in the Akali Dal. However, when asked about the ongoing discussions of his joining the BJP, he refused by saying ‘no comment’.

From Where did the political conflict begin

Sikandar Singh Maluka, who has been associated with the Shiromani Akali Dal for 55 years, has stood by the party in every difficult and easy time. Maluka became angry with the Badal family after his ticket was cut and given to Jagmeet Singh Brar.

Although Maluka was put in charge of Mor Mandi constituency again after the assembly elections and according to the sources, political relations between Maluka and Sukhbir Singh Badal improved but their political rivalry with Biba Harsimrat Kaur Badal continued. In the past, Sukhbir Singh Badal took out the Punjab Bachao Yatra, when the yatra entered the villages of Mor Mandi, Sukhbir Singh Badal, Biba Harsimrat Kaur Badal and Sikander Singh Maluka were riding in the vehicle.

Maluka took her son Gurpreet Singh Maluka in the vehicle, while Harsimrat Kaur Badal took the leader from outside the constituency in the vehicle. After this, Gurpreet Maluka got out of the car. It is said that Gurpreet was angry from that day. After this he joined BJP along with his wife. After they joined the BJP, there are constant discussions about Maluka also joining the BJP.
