BSF recovers drone along with Heroin in border area of Tarn Taran

Responding promptly to the information, the BSF troops rushed to the suspected area and carried out an extensive search operation in collaboration with Punjab Police.

Tarn Taran: On 7th May 2024, during the evening hours, an information regarding presence of a drone in border area of district Tarn Taran was received to BSF from a local villager.

During search operation at about 07:30 pm on the same day, the troops successfully recovered 01 drone in damaged condition along with 01 packet (Gross weight- 210 grams) of suspected heroin.

The narcotics were wrapped with yellow adhesive tape and a loop was made on the packet. This recovery took place in a farming field nearby Village- T J Singh, in district Tarn Taran.

The recovered drone has been identified as a China-made DJI Mavic 3 Clasaic.

Prompt sharing of information by a law abiding villager and coordinated efforts of BSF & Punjab Police foiled yet another nefarious attempt of smuggling of narcotics by an illicit Pakistani drone from across the border.
