BJP released third list of candidates in Punjab; 3 more candidates announced

Chandigarh : In Punjab, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released the third list of candidates for the 13 Lok Sabha seats. Three candidates have been announced in this list.

Dr. Subhash Sharma, the state vice-president, has been given the ticket from Anandpur Sahib constituency as a Hindu face. This marks Sharma’s inaugural foray into electoral politics.

Former Congress minister Rana Gurmeet Sodhi has been named as the candidate from Firozpur.

Arvind Khanna, a former MLA from CM Bhagwant Mann’s stronghold Sangrur, has been named as the candidate from that constituency by BJP.

However, the BJP is yet to declare its candidate for the Fatehgarh Sahib constituency. Notably, the Congress, AAP, and Akali Dal have already finalized their candidate lists, setting the stage for a competitive electoral battleground in Punjab.

In first list 6 candidates were announced by BJP

The BJP unveiled the names of 6 candidates in the initial list, followed by an additional 3 candidates in the subsequent one. Initially, the party nominated candidates like Sushil Rinku from Jalandhar, Ravneet Singh Bittu from Ludhiana, Parnit Kaur from Patiala, Hansraj Hans from Faridkot, Dinesh Babu from Gurdaspur, and Taranjit Singh Sandhu from Amritsar.

In second list 3 candidates were announced by BJP

In the second round of announcements, the BJP introduced candidates including Parampal Kaur Sidhu, a retired IAS officer and daughter-in-law of former Akali minister Sikander Singh Maluka, contesting from Bathinda, Anita Som Prakash, spouse of Union Minister Som Prakash, running from Hoshiarpur, and Manjit Singh Manna Miawind, the candidate from Khadoor Sahib constituency.
