BSF seizes over 500 grams heroin in Fazilka

The packet was wrapped in yellow colour adhesive tape with 01 steel ring and 02 illumination strips attached to it.

Fazilka: In the intervening night of 8th-9th May’ 2024, based on a specific input, a special ambush was planned by BSF on the outskirt of Village Raitewali Bhaini in Fazilka District.

During the operation, vigilant BSF troops intercepted movement of a drone on the border. As per laid down drill, BSF troops tracked down the movement of the drone.

As the troops were carrying out the operation, a local villager informed them about dropping of a suspected packet in his house by a drone. BSF troops rushed to the spot, cordoned the area and conducted search.

At about, 00:01 hrs on 9th May 2024, troops successfully recovered 01 packet (Gross weight- 550 grams) of suspected heroin from the house of village- Raitewali Bhaini in Fazilka District.

A reliable input of BSF intelligence wing and prompt sharing of information by a law abiding villager followed by timely reaction of BSF troops made this recovery of narcotics possible, which was meant to be smuggled into the country from across the border.
