21 thousands train tickets cancelled, Farmers protest continues

After the inspection by DRM, Railways has deployed teams to maintain the arrangements. Due to the Ambala-Sahnewal railway section being affected, 162 trains were affected on Sunday also.

Ambala : Passengers are facing physical and mental pain due to the farmers movement, while on the other hand, the operation of around 3500 trains has been affected. According to the information received, Railways has canceled 21 thousand tickets from April 17 to May 12 and Rs 93 lakh has been returned to the passengers as refund cancellation.

On the other hand, the crowd of passengers is continuously increasing at Ambala Cantt station. The maximum crowd is on platforms 1, 2, 3 and 4 because most of the trains coming from Delhi, Amritsar and Jammu are operating from these platforms.

In such a situation, problems of the passengers, Railways has deployed a team to maintain the arrangements at the station which will check the availability of food and drinking water for the public so that the passengers continue to get both the facilities. For this, instructions have been issued to the stall operators to ensure supply of proper quantity of Janata Khana and Rail Neer. Instructions have also been issued to the engineering department to maintain the arrangement of water coolers and booths installed at the station.

Passengers are facing the most problems due to frequent cancellation and diversion of trains. Now the seating space at the station is also becoming less. The benches on the platform are full. Therefore, passengers are forced to wait for the train by sitting and lying on the floor.

If the situation continues like this then the problem may increase. Railways is continuously brainstorming to deal with this situation.
