Congress and AAP are provoking farmers: Punjab BJP chief Sunil Jakhar

During this time, he also lashed out heavily at the state’s ruling Aam Aadmi Party. He said that Congress and Aam Aadmi Party are one party and it is they who are provoking the farmers.

Sunil Jakhar further said that every penny has been given to the farmers. The BJP government at the Center is serious about the farmers. For the last ten years, farmers have been getting MSP without any hindrance.

He emphasized that farmers are getting MSP from a past decade, additionally crops were also procured this year on MSP rates. At the same time he said, Rs 6 thousand is also being deposited in the accounts of farmers.

He said that 11 crore farmers were registered in the Kisan Samman Nidhi, whereas the number of farmers from Punjab was only 23 lakh, but this amount was halted due to mistake of the Punjab government. He criticized the Punjab government for inaction regarding this matter.

Jakhar also surrounded the farmer leaders regarding further agitation. He said that farmers have now become political. Their solution will not be on roads and intersections. He questioned why farmers are demanding MSP for other crops if they only intend to cultivate rice.
