Hisar: For the first time, two regional parties female candidates, both belong to the same family

In the history of Independence India, for the very first time two female candidates contesting election from Hisar constituency.

Hisar : For the very first time in the 18th Lok Sabha elections, two women from the Chautala family are contesting from Hisar Lok Sabha constituency. Among them, Naina Chautala, mother of former Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala, is in the fray from JJP’s side and Sunaina Chautala from INLD’s side. Sunaina Chautala is also the aunt of former Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala.

Elections in Haryana are going to be hel on 25 May. Till date, in the history of elections in Hisar Lok Sabha constituency, no national party has made a woman its candidate.

This time two regional parties have fielded women candidates. Till now only three women have contested elections from this Lok Sabha constituency. All three women had contested as an independent candidates, but could not even save their deposits.

Hisar Lok Sabha constituency is divided into nine assembly constituencies. There are approximately 18 lakh voters in Hisar Lok Sabha constituency. Of these, the number of women is 46 percent. Despite such a high population of women, till date only three women have tried their luck from this Lok Sabha seat and that too as independent candidates.

This time two more women are trying their luck in the election on behalf of regional parties. Till date no national party has given ticket to a woman from Hisar Lok Sabha constituency. This is the first time in the history of 57 years that two women are contesting elections from this Lok Sabha constituency on the ticket of any party.

This time, two women from the Chautala family are contesting from Hisar Lok Sabha constituency in the 18th Lok Sabha elections. Among them, Naina Chautala, mother of former Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala, is in the fray from JJP’s side and Sunaina Chautala from INLD’s side.

Sunaina Chautala is also the aunt of former Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala. Naina Chautala and Sunaina Chautala are sister-in-law. His uncle and father-in-law Ranjit Singh Chautala is also contesting from BJP. This time it remains to be seen whether both the women win in this battle or whether their condition is similar to that of the women who had contested elections earlier.
