During police questioning, he said that he left the world and went on a religious journey. During this time, he stayed in the Gurdwaras of many cities including Amritsar and Ludhiana. Meanwhile, after spending several days away from home, now he thought that he should go back, so he returned to his home.
It may be mentioned that Gurucharan Singh had left home for Mumbai on April 22, but when he did not reach there, the news of his disappearance came out on April 26, after which the police were informed.
