Chandigarh: Giving relief to passengers and common people, Farmers have decided to end their 34 days long ‘rail roko’ protest at the Shambhu Railway stations. Today, farmers ended their sit-in protest which resulted cancellation and diversion of huge number of trains. Farmers have been squatting over railway tracks near shambhu railway station demanding the release of farmers from Haryana Police.
Now the protest of farmers will be shifting from railway tracks to residence of prominent BJP leaders. Announcing the end of protest, Farmer leader said that they would start their sit-in protests outside the houses of prominent BJP leaders of Punjab and Haryana.
Farmers said that a rally will be held at the Shambhu Border on May 22. The blockade at the railway station started on April 17. Though Haryana government has not accepted the demand of farmers, farmers decided to lift their dharna from border and shift it to the residence of BJP leaders.
Jagjit Singh Dallewal said, “Since BJP leaders have been trying to defame farmers, we have decided to focus our protest at Shambhu and Khanauri borders and also at locations where the BJP’s star campaigners have been visiting the state.”
