PAU alumnus makes history: first Gursikh to summit Mount Everest

Former student of PAU, Malkit Singh, recently climbed the peak of Mount Everest. At the same time, he became the first student of the university and the first Gursikh person to achieve this achievement.

PAU Vice Chancellor Dr. Satbir Singh was proud of Malkit Singh’s achievements and said that he was born in a small village of Punjab and became a courageous person who reached the top of the world. This story is about his hard work, dedication and constant movement. He said that this former student of PAU has added another proud chapter to the achievements of the university.

Dean of Agriculture College Dr. Charanjit Singh Aulakh called this achievement of Malkit Singh as a wonderful achievement of PAU. He said that by reaching the height that people only dream of reaching, this wonderful athlete has given the university a dream and inspiration to reach new heights.

Won the title of the best athlete from the university three years in a row

Malkit Singh, who was born in Bor village of Fatehgarh Sahib district of Punjab, recorded his name in the pages of history. Malkit Singh, who entered PAU in BSc Honors Agriculture in 1988, has been a noted athlete. He won the title of best athlete from the university for three consecutive years.

Along with this, he was known as a very eminent student academically, after doing his B.Sc from PAU in 1993, he did his MBA from here. His wife Parminder Kaur is also alumni of PAU.

After working in different companies for two years in India, he became a resident of New Zealand. There he studied computer science program as a higher education. Their eldest son is proud to have joined the New Zealand Army as well as captaining the army’s hockey team.
