Uproar before PM Modi’s rally in Gurdaspur: Farmers protesting at Babbri bypass

In view of the Lok Sabha elections, the country's Prime Minister Narendra Modi is reaching the election rally being held in Dinanagar. In protest against this, anger is being expressed by farmer organizations at different places.

Gurdaspur : In view of the Lok Sabha elections, the country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi is reaching the election rally being held in Dinanagar. In protest against this, anger is being expressed by farmer organizations at different places. Farmers are being placed under house arrest by the police.

Under this sequence, farmer leaders and women going to the rally site were stopped by police and paramilitary forces at Babbri bypass of the city.

After this, the farmers staged a protest there and expressed their anger towards the central government. Due to the strike and the scorching heat, pedestrians also had to face a lot of problems.

Protest regarding these demands
Farmer leaders said that the Modi government at the Center has taken anti-farmer decisions. While resolving Farmers protest, the government had promised to give minimum support price for every crop, to form a committee based on representatives of farmers’ organizations, to provide justice to the martyrs of Lakhimpur Kheri, and to arrest Union Minister of State Ajay Mishra , but none of the promises were fulfilled. Due to which the farmers had to turned dowm to the streets to express their anger, but were stopped by the police before reaching the rally site.
