Karnal: Due to the scorching heat common people are suffering, while other hand, since May 7 Mahant Prahlad Giri Maharaj of Dera Baba Mast Giri Akhara is performing Panchdhuni penance in the sunlight in the Akhara premises. In which he is sitting amidst the heat of burning cakes.
He is doing Panchdhuni penance by burning Panchdhune every day from 12:15 pm to 2:15 pm. Before sitting on penance, the devotees bathe him with cold water from five pots, after that Prahlad Giri Maharaj worships him by lighting the fire of cow dung cakes, then sits amidst the fire burning from all the five sides. He is doing this to wish for world peace.
Bhandara will be organized after 41 days on 16th June. Mahant told that even before this he had done Panchdhuni penance 18 times. Langar Prasad is also arranged for the devotees who come to the Akhara daily.
Mahant Prahlad Giri told that a cowshed is being constructed in the Akhara. Satya Chandi Yagya will be organized from June 9 to 16. Mahant Prahlad Giri told that Maha Satchandi Yagya will be organized from June 10, before that Kalash Yatra will be organized from Ramlila Bhawan on June 9. The Kalash and Shobha Yatra will take rest at Dera Baba Masti Giri Akhara from Ramlila Bhawan.
