Election Duty Turns Tragic: Clerks Passes away in Night

After his health deteriorated, the employee was taken to a private hospital in Sonipat but the doctors declared him dead.

Haryana: Virendra, who had gone on election duty in village Sersa Jati of Sonipat, died on Friday night after his health deteriorated. The people gathered at the spot took him to a private hospital for first aid where doctors declared him dead.

Virendra Singh, resident of Sonipat, was a clerk in the government school located in village Pugathala of Gannaur. Virendra Singh was sent on election duty in Sersa. According to Haryana Chief Electoral Officer Anurag Aggarwal, the said employee became paralyzed after suffering a stroke. Suddenly many parts of his body stopped working.

After his health deteriorated, the employee was taken to a private hospital in Sonipat but the doctors declared him dead. Police of Sector 27 police station is investigating this matter. His body has been kept in Sonipat Civil Hospital for post-mortem.

The Chief Electoral Officer said that as per the rules, financial assistance of Rs 15 lakh will be given to the dependents of the deceased employee. Apart from this, the government and departments will take decisions at their own level.
