Uproar in Jalandhar’s Bulandpur crematorium

The family had arrived late at night to perform the last rites of the girl, but was stopped by the police; Body sent for post mortem

Punjab: Police stopped the people who had come late at night to cremate a dead girl at the cremation ground near Bulandpur in Jalandhar and took the body into custody and sent it for post-mortem.

Police were informed about this incident by the residents of the locality. After which the police came into action. After the post-mortem report comes, the police will take further action in the case. Police Station Division Number-8 is investigating the matter.

Joginder Kumar, a resident of Bachint Nagar, said that a girl has died in Bhagwan Shri Parshuram Nagar, Street No. 3. He was loaded on Activa by the family and taken to Bulandpur cremation ground and his last rites are being performed there.

After which information about the matter was given to the police. Joginder told that when he reached the spot, he saw that the dead body of the said woman was lying on the pyre and preparations were being made to perform the last rites. After which the police called an ambulance on the spot and took the body into custody. After the post-mortem, the woman will be cremated under the supervision of the administration.

SHO of Police Station Division No. 8 Gurmeet Singh said that late night he had received a call from the head of Bhagwan Shri Parshuram Nagar that the last rites of a girl were being performed at the said place. After which the teams reached the spot for investigation. The rites are being performed by the family itself. How the girl died will be known only after the post-mortem.
