Polling teams disperse for voting in Amritsar; voting under surveillance at 1684 polling booths

476 booths have been termed sensitive and 794 booths have been labelled ultra-sensitive booths in Amritsar.

Amritsar: The preparation for polling is at the final stage as voters in Punjab will cast their votes tomorrow. In Amritsar Lok Sabha constituency of Punjab, the district administration and the Election Commission today sent teams to 1684 booths. At the same time, Amritsar Police released the list of sensitive and ultra-sensitive booths.

476 booths have been termed sensitive and 794 booths have been labelled ultra-sensitive booths in Amritsar. At the same time, 10 model booths are being built in every assembly constituency this year. Police have been deployed at the sensitive booths and security has been beefed up.

Election officer and DC Amritsar Ghansham Thori said that this year there are 9 constituencies in Amritsar Lok Sabha, while two constituencies of Amritsar district, Jandiala Guru and Baba Bakala Sahib, are in Khadoor Sahib Lok Sabha constituency. There are a total of 2134 booths in the entire Amritsar district, while there are 1684 booths in Amritsar Lok Sabha for which EVM machines have been dispatched today with the staff.

900 Model Booths in entire Lok Sabha Seat

900 model booths are being built in the entire Amritsar Lok Sabha. Actually, a target has been set to prepare 10 models in every assembly. These model booths will be decorated with balloons. At the same time, a supermodel booth has been prepared in Bhawans SL. Voters will be served lassi and welcomed with drums amid severe heatwave in state.

Voting will be done under the surveillance of cameras

This time the elections will be done under the surveillance of cameras. For this, a webcasting control room has also been set up. 200 computers have been installed in them.
