Mandi: EVM machines malfunctioned at 5 booths in Sundernagar, voters return without casting vote

The administration hastily brought EVM machines to the spot and restarted the election process.

Mandi: Voting is underway for the final phase of Lok Sabha elections in Himachal Pradesh. Voters in five booths in Sundernagar assembly constituency of Mandi district had to face trouble when the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) malfunctioned which left the local administration in a state of panic.

Due to the malfunctioning of the EVM machines at five booths in the area, some voters had to wait for hours and returned home without casting their vote.

The administration hastily brought EVM machines to the spot and restarted the election process.

Considering the seriousness of these incidents, the Sundernagar Deputy Superintendent of Police and administration officials reviewed the problem on the spot. Taking cognizance of this incident, Sundernagar MLA Rakesh Jamwal visited the affected polling booths and reviewed the arrangements on the spot.

Rakesh Jamwal said that information is being received about the malfunctioning of EVM machines at various polling booths in Sundernagar assembly constituency.
