Punjab Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Results LIVE: INC wins 2 seats, ahead on 5; Independent candidate Sarabjit Singh Khalsa wins

Counting of votes for the 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab and the lone Chandigarh constituency began at 8 am amid tight security.

Chandigarh: Charanjit SinghChanni reached Shri Devi Talab Mandir to pay obeisance. He was accompanied by MLA Bava Henry, former MLA Rajinder Beri, MLA Ladi Sherowalia, MLA Pragat Singh, Kartarpur’s constituency in-charge Rajinder Singh, former councillor Rita Sharma, former councillor Anjali Bhagat, former councillor Salil Baahari and other senior Congress leaders.

Shri Devi Talab Mandir’s general secretary Rajesh Vij, cashier Pavinder Bahl, Chodri Ram Kumar, Manmohan Singh, Ashu Singla, Ajay Lali, Yash Chaddha, Sudhir Ghughi, Harpreet Walia, Ravinder Dhaliwal, Sunny Singla and all the temple’s sevadars honoured him by giving Maa’s chunari.

Independent candidate Sarabjeet Singh Khalsa, Sarabjeet Singh, who is the son of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s assassin Beant Singh has won the Faridkot Lok Sabha seat.

Congress candidate Amar Singh wins Fatehgarh Sahib Lok Sabha Seat by 34,202 votes

Charanjit Singh Channi has been declared winner from Jalandhar Lok Sabha seat. He has defeated BJP’s Sushil Kumar Rinku by over 1 lakh 75,000 votes.

Aam Aadmi Party’s candidate Punjab Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer has won from the Sangrur Lok Sabha Seat. Meet Hayer has won the seat with approximate margin of 1 lakh 68 thousand votes.

On the other hand, Win of Charanjit Singh Channi from Jalandhar is almost sure. Party workers are celebrating outside the offices before the official announcement of result. Channi has maintained a strong lead of over 1 lakh 75 thousand votes.

Punjab LS Poll Results till 1 PM

As per trends by the election commission, Congress party in Punjab has maintained a strong hold on a total 7 seats. Former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi is leading at the Jalandhar seat with a huge margin of 148979 votes. On the other hand, PPCC Chief Amarinder Singh Raja Warring is leading with 23,999 votes.

Talking about Aam Aadmi Party, AAP is leading on 3 seats namely, Hoshiarpur, Anandpurt Sahib and Sangrur.

Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) who contested on all 13 seats of the state is able to maintain lead only on one seat, i.e. Bathinda. Harsimrat Kaur Badal is ahead with a lead of over 44 thousand votes. Bhartiya Janta Party which contested elections on all 13 seats of state is out of the race. BJP is not leading on single seat of the state, not even on their strongholds.

As per trends by the Election Commission till 11 am, the Congress party has maintained a strong lead on total 7 seats. Former CM Charanjit Singh Channi is leading at the Jalandhar Lok Sabha seat with a huge lead of over 88 thousand votes. On the other hand, PPCC Chief Amarinder Singh Raja Warring is leading at Ludhiana Lok Sabha seat with over 9 thousand votes. Talking about the independent candidates Radical sikh preacher and Warris Punjab De Chief Amritpal Singh is leading with huge margin of 62 thousand votes. Another independent candidate Sarabjeet Singh Khalsa from Faridkot is also leading with margin of over 34 thousand votes.

Jailed Khalistani Supporter and Warris Punjab De Chief Amritpal Singh is leading from Khadoor Sahib seat. So far, Amritpal Singh has maintained a lead of 32,912 votes in early hours of voting.

As per the early trends, Congress is leading on 4 seats of the state whereas the ruling party of the state, Aam Aadmi Party has also taken the lead on 4 seats. Interestingly, Amritpal Singh, Khalistani Supporter, and Warris Punjab De Chief is leading ahead of all candidates here in the Khadoor sahib constituency.
