Haryana: In Haryana, a youth from Karnal was cheated of Rs 13.5 lakhs in the name of sending him to America. It is alleged that the agent sold the organs of the youth in Kazakhstan and kept blackmailing the youth’s family. The family mortgaged their house and sold jewelry to give the money to the agent, somehow the youth returned home, but marks of wounds were found on his body.
After which the family approached the agent and demanded the money back, but the agent threatened to kill them. The victim’s family complained about the matter to the Superintendent of Police, Karnal. City police station has registered a case on the basis of the complaint and started investigation.
Angoori Devi, who lives in Moti Nagar, Karnal, has 7 children, including two boys and five girls. Angoori has told in the complaint that her elder son Lalit wanted to go to America and work. His aunt’s son’s friend works in sending people abroad.
When he was contacted, the next day agent Gurmeet came to Karnal with his wife and two other people. Agent Gurmeet had said that he would send Lalit to America, for which 40 lakh rupees would be required. Everything was finalized. The accused had also taken Lalit’s documents.
The complainant told that the agent sent Lalit from Jaipur to Kazakhstan on 7 March 2023. The very next day the agent and his wife came to the house and started demanding 10 lakh rupees. At that time he did not have money, so he mortgaged his house and sold his daughters’ jewelry and collected money and gave it to the accused on 8 March.
On March 9, he withdrew five lakh rupees from his brother-in-law’s son’s account and gave it to the accused. Even after this, the greed of the accused did not decrease, the accused threatened that if the full payment is not made then anything can happen to Lalit, then dollars worth two lakh rupees were also given to the accused.
The complainant has told that Lalit’s call came after a few days. Lalit told on the phone that mother we have been cheated. The agent sold my organs in Kazakhstan. I am hiding somewhere saving my life with great difficulty. After this, Lalit called for the last time on 4 June 2023. When the agent was talked to, he put a demand of 4 lakhs and said that I have nothing in my hands. He will have to stay in a Muslim country for a few days.
The victim gave one and a half lakh rupees on 11 June 2023 to save his son’s life. On 17 June 2023, a relative told that Lalit has come to Delhi and there are some wound marks on his body and he is very scared and frightened, after which Lalit went to his sister in Tarawadi. The victim told that when we went to the agent to get the money, there the agent threatened to kill us. The accused has grabbed about 13 and a half lakh rupees. Which he complained to the police.
City police station SHO Sultan Singh said that the accused Gurmeet Verma and Navdeep Verma, residents of Guhla Cheeka district Kurukshetra, were found taking money from the complainant in the name of sending his son Lalit abroad. On the basis of investigation, a case has been registered against the accused and action has been initiated.
