A trolley full of straw suddenly caught fire on Kent Road in Faridkot, after which a stampede broke out at the spot. The people nearby immediately informed the fire brigade, after which two vehicles reached the spot to douse the fire.
The fire was brought under control after lots of efforts. Why the incident of fire was grave concern because trolley full of straw was engulfed in fire at place where on both sides were Petrol Pump. Fortunately the fire was brought under control and a major accident was avoided.
Petrol pump owner present at the spot, Tony Gulati, said that his watchman informed that the trolley caught fire after which he informed the fire brigade.
He said that he also tried to douse the fire by using fire extinguisher cylinder from his petrol pump but the fire suddenly spread so much that the fire was brought under control by the fire brigade.
He said that the width of the trolley was high enough that it rubbed with the electric wires passing above, which caused the fire due to the spark. Police was also informed about the fire following which they reached the spot and started the investigation.
