Jalandhar: On Saturday afternoon IPS officer Swapan Sharma 2009 batch took over as Police Commissioner in Jalandhar. As soon as he reached the Commissioner’s office, he first took details of all the departments under him and met the concerned officials. During the elections, Swapan Sharma was suddenly transferred by the Election Commission. After which his posting was pending.
At the same time, after the transfer of Swapan Sharma by the Election Commission, IPS Rahul S was posted in Jalandhar. As soon as the elections were over, the Punjab government again posted Swapan Sharma as Jalandhar Police Commissioner. At the same time, SP Sharma has also served as SSP in Jalandhar rural area.
Swapan Sharma did engineering from Giani Zail Singh College, Bathinda.
After which he cleared the Himachal Pradesh Administrative Services exam in the year 2008. His first appointment was as Block Development Officer in Chaupal, Shimla.
After which he passed the UPSC exam in 2009, after training he was allotted Punjab cadre. IPS Swapan Sharma has served as SSP in Fazilka, Bathinda, Ropar, Sangrur, Jalandhar and Amritsar rural.
