Schedule for by-polls in 13 assembly constituencies of 7 states announced; polling on July 10, result on July 13

Polls will be held on assembly seats of seven states including Bihar, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh.

New Delhi: The Election Commission of India announced the schedule for by-elections in total of 13 assembly constituencies. The elections will be held to fill the vacancies across 7 states. Polls will be held on assembly seats of seven states including Bihar, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh.

Elections will be held in Punjab on Jalandhar West seat which was lying vacant after the resignation of MLA Sheetal Angural.

In Himachal Pradesh, elections will be held on three assembly seats namely, Dehra, Hamirpur, and Nalagarh.

Schedule of Elections

As per the schedule of Election Commission, the Date of issue of Gazette notification will be on June 14, 2024. The last day of filing the nomination will be June 21, 2024, after which the last date for withdrawal of candidatures as per EC will be June 26, 2024.

Polling on all assembly seats will be held on July 10, 2024 after which results will be announced on July 13, 2024.
