By-poll on Jalandhar West seat on July 10, result on July 13: Punjab CEO Sibin C

Chandigarh: The Election Commission of India has announced schedule for 13 assembly seats across seven states. In these bypolls, voting will be held in Jalandhar for the Jalandhar West assembly seat.

Punjab Chief Electoral Officer Sibin C has informed that voting for Jalandhar West (SC) by-election will be held on July 10. In this regard, the election schedule has been released by the Election Commission of India.

Sibin said that the notification will be issued on June 14 (Friday) and the last date for filing nominations will be June 21 (Friday). Scrutiny of nomination papers will be done on June 24 (Monday) while the last date for withdrawal of nomination papers is June 26 (Wednesday).

He said that voting will be held on July 10 (Wednesday) and the result will be declared after counting of votes on July 13 (Saturday).

Sibin C said that with the announcement of the by-election, the election code has come into force in Jalandhar West constituency from today i.e. Monday. This code will remain in force till the completion of the election process by July 15 (Monday). Let us tell you that this seat fell vacant after the resignation of 34-Jalandhar West (SC) MLA Sheetal Angural.
