Gold Jewellery Theft in Kapurthala

Thieves entered through the fields, broke the house's wall, and stole Rs 1.85 lakh and a mobile phone.

Kapurthala: In the village of Sidhwan Donan in Kapurthala, unknown thieves entered a house through the fields, broke through the room’s wall, and stole valuables including jewellery, cash, and mobile phones worth lakhs of rupees before fleeing. When the homeowner discovered the theft, he attempted to track down the thieves independently but found no clues.


According to police information, the victim Sukhdev Singh, a resident of Sidhwan Donan village, reported to the police that he and his family were asleep in a room when the incident occurred.


During the late hours of the night, thieves entered through the field, broke through the wall of the room, and pilfered gold jewellery, cash from a box, and items from a cupboard. Upon realizing the theft, Singh thoroughly inspected their belongings and discovered a loss of cash amounting to Rs 1.85 lakh, approximately 12gms of gold, and a mobile phone.


Initially, Singh endeavoured to trace the thieves independently but was unsuccessful. Subsequently, he filed a complaint with the Sadar police station. Based on his complaint, the police have registered a case against the unknown thieves under sections 457 and 380 of the IPC. Investigating officer ASI Bhupinder Singh stated that the police are actively searching for the perpetrators, with CCTV cameras in the vicinity of the house being scrutinized for any leads.
