3 cadets from Punjab select for Air Force Academy

Aman Arora said that the three daughters would become role models for other girls.

Chandigarh: Three women cadets of the Mai Bhago Armed Forces Preparatory Institute for Girls (AFPI) of Punjab have been selected for the Indian Air Force Academy. They have been selected for pre-commission training. The training will start in July 2024.

State Employment Generation Skill Minister Aman Arora has congratulated the three cadets. He said that the three daughters would become role models for other girls. Last year, the NDA preparation wing for girls was started at the institute. Now the training for the second batch is going on.

Female cadet Harnoor Singh, a resident of Pathankot, is the daughter of Vikram Singh Bains, Principal of Government School, while Cadet Kriti S. Bisht is the daughter of Shakti Sharan Singh, Senior Engineer, PACL Nangal. Cadet Alisha, a resident of Jalandhar, is already undergoing training at the Indian Naval Academy. Her father, Sunil Dutt, is a teacher at a private school.

Director of the institute, Major General Jasbir Singh Sandhu, AVSM (Retd), said that this achievement will further boost his efforts to send more and more girls from the state to various armed forces’ pre-commission training academies. He also extended his best wishes to these women cadets for their bright future in the Indian Air Force.
