After Randhawa, PPCC Chief Raja Warring tenders resignation from MLA post

Earlier, the speaker of the assembly accepted the resignations of Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and Raj Kumar Chabbewal.

After the resignation of Punjab’s senior Congress leader and former Deputy CM Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa from the Dera Baba Nanak assembly seat Congress state president and Gidderbaha MLA Amarinder Singh Raja Warring also reached the assembly and submitted his resignation to Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan.

He has won the Lok Sabha elections from Ludhiana. At the same time, AAP leader Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer will also resign soon. The speaker wished him all the best for the new journey. He also said that he should raise the issues of Punjab in the country’s Parliament.

Four MLAs had won the elections

This time a total of four MLAs had won the Lok Sabha elections. This includes Congress MLA from Dera Baba Nanak Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and Congress state president and Gidderbaha MLA Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, AAP MLA from Barnala and minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer and Raj Kumar Chabbewal who left Congress and joined AAP.

After this, the Election Commission will take a decision regarding holding by-elections on the seats of these MLAs.

Everyone will have to resign by June 20

According to legal experts, all the leaders elected as MPs will have to resign before June 20. Because both the posts cannot be held at the same time. If the MLA does not resign within the stipulated time, then his Lok Sabha seat will be considered vacant by the Election Commission.
