Supporters of Khalistan leader Amritpal meet President Murmu, demand release of Amritpal for Oath-taking ceremony

After the meeting, It was assured by the President that appropriate action will be taken.

Shiromani Akali Dal Fateh, a group of supporters of Radical Pro Khalistan supporter Amritpal Singh reached Rashtrapati Bhawan in order to meet the President. The meeting was regarding the release of Amritpal Singh from Dibrugarh Jail, Assam.

It should be noted that Amritpal Singh won the Lok sabha elections and he is an elected MP from Khadoor Sahib in Punjab. During meeting it was demanded that Amritpal is elected member of Parliament and therefore should be respected as an MP. The said party has submitted its demand letter to the President in this matter.

Sought time from the President for oath taking

In a press conference held in Bathinda, Punjab, Shiromani Akali Dal Fateh President Jaskaran Singh Kahan Singh Wala said “a case is going on against Amritpal under the National Security Act. Action has been taken against Amritpal with the connivance of both governments. He should be given time for oath taking otherwise struggle will be continue and taken forward.”

After the meeting, It was assured by the President that appropriate action will be taken.

After meeting Jaskaran Singh said that they got only two to three minutes to meet the President. But in that time she patiently listened to them and assured us that she would take appropriate action in the matter.
