New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal has written a letter to the leaders of INDIA Block on Tuesday (June 18). Swati has sought help from leaders like Rahul Gandhi and Sharad Pawar in the assault case against her. The matter is of a fight between Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s PA Bibhav Kumar and Swati at his residence.
Swati has shared a letter written to Rahul and Sharad on social media. In the caption, she wrote – I have worked on the ground for the last 18 years. In 9 years, I have heard 1.7 lakh cases in the Women’s Commission.
I raised the Women’s Commission to a high position without fearing anyone and bowing to anyone. However, it is very sad that first I was badly beaten up at the Chief Minister’s house. Then my character was maligned. Today I have written a letter to all the big leaders of the INDIA alliance. I have asked for time to meet everyone.
Maliwal said- I am getting rape-murder threats
Swati Maliwal wrote in a two-page letter- On May 13, 2024, I was attacked by the PA of the Chief Minister of Delhi at his residence. After this painful incident, I lodged a complaint. However, sadly, instead of getting support, my character was assasinated.
My party leaders and volunteers shamed me. A campaign was run on electronic and social media to undermine my reputation, character and credibility. Due to the lies spread against me, I am getting rape and death threats many times.
Bibhav Kumar was arrested on June 18
Delhi Police had registered an FIR on May 16 in the Swati Maliwal assault case. Swati had claimed that Bibhav Kumar slapped her 7-8 times. Kicked on the stomach and private part. This broke the buttons of his shirt.
According to Maliwal, her clothes were torn off, but Bibhav did not stop hitting her. Bibhav also slammed her head on the table. Kejriwal was at home, but still no one came to help.
The police had registered a case against Bibhav Kumar under the Indian Penal Code provisions related to criminal intimidation, assault or criminal force with intent to disrobe a woman and attempt to commit culpable homicide. Bibhav was arrested from the CM residence on May 18. Currently, he is in judicial custody till June 22.
