Special ticket checking drive conducted in Ferozepur division: Rs 5 lakh fine collected from ticketless passengers

A special ticket checking campaign was conducted from 11 June to 17 June, 2024 in Ferozepur Division to curb unauthorized and ticketless passengers traveling in trains and premium trains i.e. Shatabdi Express, Vande Bharat Express and Rajdhani Express as well as to prevent overcrowding.

This special ticket checking campaign was conducted daily by forming teams under the leadership of various senior officers. The special ticket checking campaign was led by Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Chief Regional Manager Amritsar and Srinagar, Station Director Ludhiana and Jammu Tawi and Assistant Commercial Managers.

962 Railway passengers were caugt travelling without ticket

Intensive ticket checking campaign was conducted on sections like Jalandhar-Amritsar, Ferozepur-Bathinda, Ludhiana-Pathankot Cantt, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-Pathankot Cantt, Ludhiana-Jalandhar Cantt, Srinagar-Banihal etc. of Ferozepur Division. A fine of about 5 lakh rupees was collected from 962 railway passengers travelling without ticket and irregularly.

The Senior Divisional Commercial Manager said that the ticket checking staff of Jammu Tawi, Pathankot, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Amritsar and Ferozepur headquarters of the division have done commendable work in the special ticket checking campaign, which is a matter of pride for the division. He said that the ticket checking staff who work diligently and earn more revenue through ticket checking are rewarded.

The Senior Divisional Commercial Manager said that the highly crowded stations of Ferozepur division like Amritsar, Jalandhar City, Jalandhar Cantt, Ludhiana and Jammu Tawi are being monitored by high level officials.

At these stations, the ticket checking staff and RPF jawans are taking special care of the comfort of the railway passengers and trying to control the extra crowd. To clear the extra crowd, summer special trains are being operated and extra coaches are being added to the trains.
