Delhi Excise Policy Case: Judicial custody of Arvind Kejriwal again extended to this date

New Delhi: Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s difficulties in the money laundering case related to the Delhi Excise policy scam do not seem to end.

In the latest news, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was produced in the court today through video conferencing after his judicial term expired. The Rouse Avenue Court has extended Kejriwal’s judicial custody till July 3.

According to news agency ANI, Arvind Kejriwal was produced in the court through video conferencing from Tihar Jail after his judicial custody ended on Wednesday. From here, the court has extended the judicial custody of Chief Minister Kejriwal till July 3.

Delhi CM was arrested on March 21

ED arrested Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on March 21 after 2 hours of interrogation in the excise case. Since then he is lodged in Tihar Jail. However, in the meantime, he got interim bail from the Supreme Court for three weeks i.e. till June 1 to campaign for the Lok Sabha elections. He surrendered on June 2, the next day after voting ended.

Earlier last week, Kejriwal had filed an additional application seeking permission for his wife to attend the medical board meeting and his medical checkup during his examination. The ED has sought additional time to file its reply in the matter. The ED counsel had said that the medical board has not been officially constituted yet.
