Jalandhar: A car collided with a divider late night near Urban Estate on Jalandhar Road in Kapurthala, Punjab. The police sub-inspector riding in it died after being injured.
SHO Manjit Singh of City Thana-2 Urban Estate confirmed this and said that the deceased has been identified as Sub Inspector Jaspal Singh resident of Jalandhar. He was posted at Satnampura police station of Phagwara division.
According to the information received from SHO Manjit Singh, a car collided with a divider near Urban Estate at around 9:30 pm late night.
Due to which the car driver SI Jaspal Singh was seriously injured. After receiving information about the incident, the PCR team reached the spot and admitted the injured to the emergency ward of the civil hospital for treatment. Where the duty doctor referred him after first aid, seeing his critical condition. But he died on the way.
SHO Manjit Singh also said that the body of the deceased has been taken into custody and kept in the mortuary for postmortem. Action is being taken under Section 174 on the basis of the statement of the family members.
On the other hand, SHO of Satnampura police station Gaurav Dheer said that Sub-Inspector Jaspal Singh had gone to meet a lawyer in Kapurthala for some official work. During which the accident happened.
