Karnataka: After JDS leader Prajwal Revanna, who is embroiled in the Karnataka sex scandal, now his brother Sooraj Revanna has also been arrested by the police on Sunday (23 June). A case of sexual harassment has also been registered against him. A party worker has accused Suraj of having homosexual relations.
A youth named Chetan KS claimed that on June 16, JDS MLC Suraj Revanna called him to his farmhouse. Here he forcefully kissed him and bit his lips and cheeks.
The youth lodged an FIR against Suraj at Holenarasipura police station in Hassan district on Saturday. The police had registered a case against Sooraj under sections 377, 342, 506 of the IPC.
Prajwal Revanna and Suraj Revanna are sons of JDS MLA HD Revanna and grandsons of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda. Sooraj is the elder brother of former Haasan MP Prajwal Revanna. Prajwal is accused of sexually harassing several women. He is in judicial custody till June 24 in this case.
Young man claims – Suraj threatened to kill him
According to India Today report, the young man said in his complaint, ‘Suraj told me that you are alone in this farmhouse. You do not know about me and our family.’ The young man further said that Suraj also threatened to kill me if I do not cooperate.
According to the young man, Suraj sexually harassed him. After this, he assured him of help in advancing politically. When the young man later messaged Suraj about the incident, Suraj replied that don’t worry, everything will be fine.
Suraj accused the young man of extortion
On the other hand, Suraj Revanna has accused Chetan of extortion. Regarding this, Suraj Revanna’s close friend Shivkumar had lodged an FIR against Chetan and his brother-in-law on Friday (21 June).
Shivkumar told in his complaint that Chetan had first become his friend. Later he started working for Suraj Revanna Brigade. Recently, Chetan asked for money to meet his family expenses, but Shivkumar refused.
After this, Chetan threatened to file a sexual harassment case against Suraj Revanna. Shivkumar claimed that Chetan had demanded Rs 5 crore. He later reduced his demand to Rs 2 crore.
3 cases related to sexual harassment against Prajwal Revanna
Prajwal Revanna was arrested from Bengaluru airport on 31 May in the Karnataka sex scandal. He reached India from Germany after 35 days. Prajwal left the country on 27 April, a day after the election on the Hassan Lok Sabha seat.
In fact, on April 26, several pen drives were found in public places in Bengaluru. It was claimed that the pen drives contained 3 to 5 thousand videos in which Prajwal was seen sexually harassing several women. The faces of the women were also not blurred.
After this, on April 28, a woman working in Prajwal’s house filed a complaint of sexual harassment against him. A total of three FIRs have been registered against Prajwal so far, including charges of rape, molestation, blackmailing and threatening.
