Mumbai: Film City was established in 1977 by the Maharashtra government. For its establishment, an expert committee was formed in 1970.
Members included in the committee were departed filmmaker B.R. Chopra, actor Dilip Kumar, and director V. Shantaram. ‘Dadasaheb Phalke Chitranagri’ is situated in Goregaon East, Mumbai, which is commonly known as a film city.
