Mumbai: Tabassum Fatima Hashmi, mostly known as Tabu, is one of the most accomplished actresses in Hindi cinema. She has often played troubled women, from fictional to literary, in both mainstream and independent cinema.
Tabu and Ajay Devgan will be seen again together in the movie ‘Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha’. Under the direction of Neeraj Pandey, the movie’s star cast includes Ajay Devgan, Tabassum Fatima Hashmi, Jimmy Shergill, Shantanu Maheshwari, and Saiee Manjrekar.
The film is set to release on July 5. In an interview, she was asked about her first-rated acting skills. She said, “Leaving an everlasting impact on the audience does not depend on your hard work; sometimes the characters are so unique that they become your signature. Otherwise, what matters for me is the maker of the film. For a long time, I wished to work with Neeraj Pandey. Many people told me to do work with Neeraj Pandey; I used to say that definitely, I will do that one day.”
When she was asked about the excitement surrounding the release of a new movie, she said, “Firstly, the script of the film was amazing because Neeraj Pandey drops a very unique angle in love stories. I, Neeraj, and Ajay are working on this movie, and then what is more exciting than this? This much is sufficient to work in the film because I knew that everything would be good.”
On being asked about Tabu’s capabilities, Neeraj said, “She has a lot of capabilities in her, which are not yet revealed in front of the audience.” The best part about her is that whenever she does any project, she works on it to the fullest extent. She does not only work on her character but also understands the whole film.”
On the effect of her friendship with Ajay Devgan on the movie, she said, “I am not very sure about this, so I cannot tell that if we’re not friends, then how can we show our chemistry on the screen? I feel good while working with him. But he has not changed over the years.
He does a lot of pranks with everyone on set, but not with me because I catch him immediately.
