Mandi: The rains have started revealing how excellent the work on four-lane roads in Himachal Pradesh has been. On Chandigarh-Manali National Highway, Sundarnagar (Mandi) bypass constructed at a cost of about 90 crores has started sinking. In view of this, one lane has been closed for vehicles as a precautionary measure.
These days it is raining daily in the state. Sundarnagar has received the highest rainfall during the last 24 hours. Due to rain, big cracks have started appearing in the middle of the road and in the lower part of the parapet on the side of the road on the bypass in Pung of Sundarnagar.
Sundernagar bypass has been built from Pung of Sundarnagar to Naulakha on the Kiratpur-Manali four lane. The movement of vehicles on this highway started on June 19. But now one of its lanes has been closed.
Near Pandoh Highway Damaged Yesterday
The Chandigarh-Manali National Highway, which was restored after about eight months by installing a ramp near the Pandoh Dam in Mandi district at a cost of about 40 crores, is once again in danger. The National Highway constructed by installing a ramp is once again on the verge of collapse. Cracks have started appearing on the highway, which are gradually increasing.
However, there is no impact on traffic as of now. A landslide occurred near the Kainchi turn on the NH. A truck has come under its impact. This truck was parked here due to a breakdown. The truck has been damaged due to being hit by debris.
