Sangrur: In Punjab’s Sangrur district, the police launched a campaign against drug smugglers. During this campaign, 16 drug smugglers have been arrested. Along with this, the police have also recovered a huge amount of drugs.
Giving information during the press conference, SSP Sartaj Singh Chahal said that under the guidelines of the Punjab government and the district police, a campaign was launched against drugs and anti-social elements in Sangrur. He said that during this time, 16 drug smugglers were arrested, and four cases have been registered against the drug dealers.
He said that intoxicating pills, capsules, heroin, cannabis, and illicit liquor have been recovered from the accused.
The SSP said that the public has also been encouraged to cooperate in the anti-drug campaign. He said that by organizing meetings with sports councils and panchayats, the general public is being made aware of the ill effects of drugs. He also said that the accused involved in the drug business will not be spared at all.
