Ambala: An Indian Oil and Petroleum tanker crushed a woman riding a bicycle in Ambala Cantt, Haryana. The accident happened under the flyover in front of Ambala Cantt Railway Station. The accident was so painful that the wheel of the tanker passed over the woman’s stomach.
The deceased woman has been identified as Salochana, a resident of 12 Cross Road, Cantt. Salochana was a cleaning worker for the Cantonment Board.
After the accident, when the local people showed anger, the tanker stopped. After calling the police, the people handed over the tanker driver to the police. The police reached the spot, took the woman’s body into custody, and took the body to the Civil Hospital of Ambala Cantt for a postmortem.
The family members of the deceased told them that his wife, Salochana, had left home for work in the morning. She used to go on a bicycle every day. It had been only 10 minutes since she left the house that the information of being hit by a tanker came.
