Padma Bhushan-awarded pop singer Usha Uthup’s husband Jani Chacko Uthup died in Kolkata on Monday, July 8. He was 78 years old. His last rites will be performed in Kolkata today.
According to Usha Uthup’s family, Jani was watching TV at his home and during that time he felt uneasy. He was admitted to a nearby hospital, but the doctors declared him dead. Doctors said that Jani Chacko died of a heart attack.
Second husband of Usha Uthup
Jani Chacko Uthup was the second husband of singer Usha Uthup. He was associated with the tea plantation sector. Usha and Jani first met in Trincas in the 70s. Usha is the mother of a daughter Anjali Uthup and a son Sunny Uthup.
Usha Uthup was first married to Ramu Iyer. But after five years of marriage, the relationship between them was not good. However, Ramu used to encourage Usha for music. He used to take her to events himself. .
