Panipat: A woman living in Sector 12 of Panipat city, Haryana, was targeted by a cyber fraudster. After making a WhatsApp call, the fraudster made the woman his sister. After this, he cheated her on the pretext of sending clothes. After taking 30 30,000 rupees, another 30 thousand were demanded, and then the woman got suspicious. After this, the matter was reported to the police. The police have registered a case of fraud based on the complaint.
In the complaint given to Cyber Station Police, the woman, Gulnaz, said that she is a resident of Sectors 11–12, Ghosli. She got a call on July 5. The caller had called her on WhatsApp. During the conversation, he said that he was talking from Dubai.
He wants to be friends with her. which she refuses. After this, he said that he does not have a sister. She should become his sister. Both of them became brothers and sisters. They kept talking for a day. On the third day, he said that he had sent clothes for her children. On July 6, the woman received a call.
He said that her parcel had arrived at the airport. She should send 13 thousand rupees for delivery. The woman sent the said amount. After this, another call came. In which he said that 17 thousand rupees more would have to be sent. The woman sent this amount too. After this, when he asked for 30 thousand rupees again, the woman became suspicious.
After which, she complained about it to the police.
