Heavy rain warning in Himachal for 2 days: 22% less rain than normal in monsoon season

The slow monsoon in Himachal can pick up pace from tomorrow for the next two days. According to the Meteorological Department, most parts of the state will receive rain on July 11 and 12.

Shimla: The slow monsoon in Himachal can pick up pace from tomorrow for the next two days. According to the Meteorological Department, most parts of the state will receive rain on July 11 and 12. Yellow alert warning has been issued in all districts except Lahaul Spiti and Kinnaur. But the monsoon is forecast to slow down again from July 13.

Even today the weather will remain clear in most parts. This time the monsoon has weakened since entering the state. In the current monsoon season, there has been 22 percent less rainfall than normal. The normal rainfall is 160.6 mm from June 1 to July 9, but this time only 125.7 mm of rain fell. All other districts except Mandi and Shimla have received less than normal rainfall.

Least rainfall in Lahaul Spiti-Sirmaur

The least rainfall occurred in Lahaul Spiti and Sirmaur districts. Lahaul Spiti received 57 per cent less rain than normal and Sirmaur district received 50 per cent less rain. Bilaspur district received 22 per cent less rain than normal, Chamba 32 per cent, Hamirpur 18 per cent, Kinnaur 37 per cent, Kangra 4 per cent, Kullu 20 per cent, Solan 19 per cent and Una district received 42 per cent less rain than normal.

More than normal rain in these districts

Mandi district received 2 per cent more rain than normal and Shimla received 5 per cent more rain than normal.

Temperature increased

After the monsoon weakened in the state, the temperature of most cities has increased and the maximum temperature has become more than normal.

The temperature of Bhuntar in Kullu has increased the most by 3.4 degrees and it has reached 35.4 degrees. The temperature of Bilaspur has also increased by 3.2 degrees from normal to 36.5 degrees, Shimla’s mercury has increased by 1.3 degrees to 24.8 degrees, Una’s temperature has increased by 1.6 degrees to 36.4 degrees, Mandi’s temperature has increased by 2.7 degrees to 33.7 degrees Celsius. Similarly, the temperature of other cities has also increased.
