Cut with a sword due to dispute with the wife; fined Rs 20,000 each.

Hisar: In Haryana’s Hisar, the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Dr. Gagandeep Mittal convicted Gulab Singh and Hanuman of Rewari’s Dakhora village in the murder attempt case and sentenced both of them to 7 years of imprisonment. A fine of Rs 20,000 each was imposed on both of them. HTM police station had registered a case against both of them on August 4, 2018, under attempt to murder and other sections.

According to the prosecution in court, Rupesh of Kot village in Bhiwani district lives with his family in the Millgate area. He works as a driver at a shop near Jindal Chowk. He was walking towards his house after finishing work at 8 p.m. on August 2, the day of the incident. When he reached the Suryanagar railway gate, a bike stopped near him.

Hanuman and Gulab of Rewari were on the bike. Gulab had a sword in his hand, and Hanuman had an axe. Both of them attacked him as soon as he arrived, and he later fled from the spot. A passerby admitted Rupesh to a private hospital in an injured condition.

An investigation revealed that there was a rift between Hanuman and his wife. Hanuman’s wife considered the injured Rupesh to be her brother. This is why the attack was carried out. HTM police station had registered a case under attempt to murder and other sections on the statement of the injured. The court has declared both the accused guilty.
